571 Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1

This is the latest development in cameras, 20 mega pixels, a Leica 28mm, f/2.8 lens and a large sensor, shooting RAW files. But it is neither from Nikon nor from Canon, it's the Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1(oh, and it's got a phone built in). Hmmm …

I keep blogging about this issue ... methinks it's a big deal: 515, 519. I believe the time will come (if it hasn't already) when people want to carry only one electronic device around with them ... hail the iPhone 6, it'll do for the casual snap-shooter.

For others it will be a case of, I want a good camera and I can't see why I should have to lug a phone around too. This is the thing: I believe - the way things are going, with everybody getting more and more into photography (it's so easy now) - punters will really appreciate a good camera/phone combo; so why do Canon/Apple or Nikon/Apple leave this market to Samsung and Panasonic? It mystifies me.

So, please give me ... a 3 x zoom lens, 25mm to 75mm (35mm comparable) at f/2.8. A large chip, as in the Panasonic (ok, the lens may have to be f/4.0 then). RAW files. Manual functions, again, like the Panasonic; and the cinch is a viewfinder. Thanks.

Ah, yes, I nearly forgot ... with a phone built in, please.
