''Shit happens'' is an undignified phrase in any circumstance for an aspiring prime minister; to claim he was quoted out of context was simply too stupid a thing to do (since the incident was documented so well) for an aspiring prime minister; the claim that he was ambushed by the media was too cheap a shot for an aspiring prime minister; that silence was unseemly for an aspiring prime minister.

There's a bottom line to all this: the man never will be prime minister.
