100 / Music for the gods

John Shand (in the Herald today) has a way with words. I hadn't realised just how good the Ravi/Anoushka Shankar concert really was, before I read his critique. Good on you, John. And while Richard Dawkins preaches there is no god, he probably would have agreed the Shankars were divine!

But I have a problem, it is with the price of admission of being moved closer to Him/Her/It. When I clicked 'best possible seat' while booking, it came up as costing $225; I narrowly avoided it and booked seats for $175. For four musicians and two assistants, with six instruments. My son told me AC/DC was $135 for 200 tons of gear, two huge travelling stages and 500 assistants, let alone five musicians. Go figure.
