60 / Climate change scepticism - one last time
Two newspaper articles today
and yesterday are remarkable: Today Britain’s high commissioner to Australia,
Baroness Valerie Amos, is reported to be surprised that Australians are still
debating whether humans cause climate change and says that other nations have
long since moved on.
“There is a lot of debate
about what has to be done” about the problem, but the fact that the problem
exists is not discussed … in Britain they don’t have “the kind of negative
reporting you have here.”
As though she is referring
to yesterday’s article by climate-change sceptic Miranda Devine. She says that
history will record the PM’s embarrassment for considering climate change the ‘moral
challenge of our nation’.
Most likely not, Ms Devine. The embarrassment is
all yours, for consistently being in denial on the issue and your reporting being
out of step with scientific reality. You consider the PM’s refutation of
climate change deniers an ‘extraordinary tirade’ … yet nobody, not even the PM,
does extraordinary tirades as well as you do.
I have written before about how I'm well and truly over the discussion as the whether climate change exists or not. Boring, indeed.
