My son Yani does boxing. He trains in Redfern, at the South Central PCYC. His trainer is Tony O'Loughlin.
On Friday he had his first fight. It was an exhibition fight, against his mate Tom - nevertheless, he is quite bruised today.
The main event was a bout between two veterans - the boss of Redfern police and a senior officer of the Special Forces.
Even though it was raining and the ring was outdoors, a good time was had by all.
